Dawn B. (Grass) Glenn, 76, wife of Thomas A. Glenn, of Gloucester, passed away on Monday morning, April 23, 2012, at her home.
Born in Waterville, Maine on June 5, 1935, daughter of the late Ernest and Linnie (Morrissette) Grass.
Dawn was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine and graduated from Mass Memorial Hospital in Boston with her Nursing degree.
For many years, Dawn worked as the night supervisor in the Babson Wing at Addison Gilbert Hospital.
Dawn was very active in the Gloucester AMVETS Post 32 with her husband Tom, helping out in many ways for their various functions. She also accompanied Tom to his reunions for the members of the USS Worcester.
In the spring time, Dawn and Tom enjoyed their trips to Florida for spring training baseball and she loved going to Foxwoods with her best friend Cathy Morrissey. Dawn especially enjoyed camping with her whole family in Moody Beach, Maine, where her grandchildren hold some very special memories.
In addition to her husband Tom, she is survived by her seven children, Thomas A. “Butch” Glenn Jr. and wife Kim of Seekonk, Kevin M. Glenn of Daytona Beach, FL., Theresa Ann Cox and husband David of Rowley, Diana Marie Glenn of Gloucester, Russell E. Glenn and wife Katherine “Treen” of Gloucester, Ramona Jean Blais and husband Bob of York, ME., Cecelia “C.C.” Rose Glenn of Marblehead; grandchildren, Melody, Tabitha, Haley and Thomas Glenn, Ariel, Harley, Elena and Alicia Cox, Sammantha Glenn, Linnie Ann Blais, Olympia Glenn Scola; her brother William Grass and wife Barbara of Texas; sister Linda Grass of Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Thursday, April 26, at 9:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Ann’s Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
