Gloucester, MA — Ann Cooney died Monday, June 10, at Seacoast Nursing and Rehab.
Her life and legacy is one of loving, giving and volunteer work for which she has done for many years. If she wasn't raising money for a charity she was knitting, doing crafts, sewing or baking for someone in the family or for a cause or a friend.
She was a Past Great Pocahontas for the Ucita Council Degree of Pocahontas and had been a member for over 50 years.
She worked at various jobs including Gortons, Seafood Kitchens, the Goodwin Party Store and Osco, until she 'retired' at the age of 75.
She leaves her daughters, Kate Andrewes, wife of Jack; Sue Muise, wife of Rick; and Mary Garron. Her grandchildren, John Andrewes, husband of Jemina; Matt Andrewes, husband of Lindsey; Scott Muise, husband of Leah; Jeff Muise, husband of Laura; Ashley LeClaire, wife of Josh; and Lindsey Tibert and her partner, Brad Hale. She is also survived by her brothers, William Flaherty and James M. Flaherty and his wife, Jeannie; 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Addison LeClaire, and Brady Hale; also niece, Jennifer Flaherty and her daughter, Evelyn; nephews, Mike and his wife, Katy; and Keith Flaherty and his wife, Dawn, of Wilmington; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; as well as special niece, Margaret Sheehan and her daughter, Maureen.
ARRANGEMENTS: At her previous request, arrangements will be private. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, to be announced. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice or to the Alzheimer's Organization, The American Cancer Society or to Seacoast Activity Fund.
