Fort Myers, FL — Catherine F. “Casey” Clarke, 74, of Fort Myers, Fla., died on August 28, 2013, at her home under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born on April 7, 1939, in Providence, R.I., and was the child of John J. and Hazel U. (Tucker) Clarke Sr.
Casey attended St. James Elementary School in West Warwick and graduated from St. Francis Xavier Academy, Providence, then graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science and master's degree in education.
She was in physical education for 36 years in Massachusetts, and also held a real estate license for many years in the state. Catherine always had a compassionate and helping hand for her friends and family. She loved animals and had many fortunate dogs and cats. She was a longtime New England Patriots fan, and her love of sports was demonstrated throughout her life.
She is survived by her partner of 24 years, Susan Patience of Fort Myers; her sister, Barbara (Stan) Tabak of West Warwick, R.I.; her brother, John J. (Judy) Clarke Jr.; nieces, Lori Petrosinelli, Cheryl Russell, Jessica Tabak, Elizabeth Rosenstein, and Sarah and Sharon Jacques; nephews, Norman, David, Stephen, Jim, Kevin, and Michael Clarke, and Gary Jacques.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 22, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Angelica’s Restaurant, 49 South Main Street, Route 114, Middletown, Mass.
