She was born in Salem, Mass., on May 11, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Julia (Soucy) Theriault.

She attended local schools and graduated from Rockport High School, Class of 1943. She later attended Western Union School, as these were the war years and there was a great need for workers.
Irene was sent to Windsor, Vt., where there was a large French population, and she could speak and understand French. She spent a year there, but then came home because she missed her family and the ocean. Her latest employment, and the one she enjoyed the most, was with the Rockport Chamber of Commerce.
Her family and friends enjoyed the grape jelly she made from the grapes in her grape arbor and her piccalilli. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Anderson and his wife, Kelley (Peters) Anderson of Rockport; her adored grandchildren, Matthew and Kelsea Anderson, both of Rockport; two sisters, Anita Bernier of Rockport, and Patricia Ryan of Gloucester; her brother, Paul Theriault and his wife, Nancy, of Rockport; nieces, Judy Maxfield, Lisa Bernier, Julie Berman, and Denise Ryan; and nephews, Paul Theriault, Stephen Theriault and Virgil Toneatti.
