Gloucester, MA — Finella N. Taormina 49, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 20, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Terrasini, Sicily on June 3, 1963, she was the daughter of Pietro and the late Guiseppina (Lo Iacono) Taormina. Finella was employed for many years at Strong Leather Factory. She also worked for Kona, Boston Acoustics and most recently Wind River Environmental.
Finella was passionate about her New England Patriots and looked forward to every football season. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with her cousins and friends visiting major cities throughout the United States and Europe. Finella enjoyed summer days at Good Harbor Beach. She had a keen sense of fashion and shopping was another one of her favorite pastimes.
In addition to her father Pietro, Finella is survived by her brothers Mercurio Taormina and wife Geraldine (Ferrante), Vincenzo Taormina and his wife Jennifer (Lupo); nephews Peter and Sam Taormina and nieces, Josiemarie Martinez and Rosemary Russo. She also leaves behind her dearest friends Cliff and Sharon Alves, loving godparents Pasquale and Pina Lucido and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother Guiseppina who passed away on March 4, 2011.
Finella's faith was very strong and it was evident in her dedication to her church, family and friends and the especially the caring of her parents. She shared a special bond with her nephews Peter and Sam. This was one of the greatest joys of her life.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 24th, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
There are be no visiting hours.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
