Angelica 'Kiki' Belezos, 86

Gloucester, MA — Mrs. Angelica G. Belezos, 86, lifelong resident of Gloucester, Mass., passed away peacefully on June 21, 2013. Kiki was the beloved wife of George Belezos for 62 years, and the loving mother of daughter Paula and son-in-law, Tom Conrad of Peabody; son, William and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Belezos of Hamilton; and her deceased daughter, Deborah Johnson, wife of Craig, of Port Townsend, Wash.

Her happiest moments were spent in the company of her grandchildren Alexander and Gregory Conrad, and Alyssa, Christina, and Alexis Belezos. She delighted in sharing and in celebrating their individual interests and accomplishments.

Kiki was loved by all and was known as a forward-thinking, intelligent, adventurous, and independent woman. She was gracious and kind, and also had a feisty, fun sense of humor. In her earlier years, she had a fondness for travel and visited China, Tibet, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Egypt, Peru, Alaska, Jerusalem, the Washington Peninsula, and the Greek Islands with her husband and friends. She was a wonderful cook, well read, and easy and fun to be around. She especially loved the ocean breezes and sitting on Good Harbor Beach sharing picnic lunches with friends and family.

Winner of the Sawyer Medal, Kiki attended Salem State College, served as the college’s chorus director, and she made many lifelong friends there. She taught grades 2 to 6 in the Gloucester Public School system and at St. Mel’s School until she retired. In her later years, she was an active volunteer at the Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.

Kiki will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who embraced life with a fun spirit.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, on Thursday, June 27, at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours will precede the service on Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. The burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923, or the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 6 Lafayette St., Ipswich, MA 01938.
