Gloucester, MA — Elaine L. “Lainie” (Malmi) Naves, 77, of Gloucester, wife of the late Richard G. Naves, passed away suddenly, on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at her home. Lainie was born in Gloucester, on April 5, 1936, daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Cavander) Malmi. Lainie grew up in Lanesville and attended and graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of ‘54. She furthered her education and became a Radiological Technologist, and was the first to use an ultra sound on Cape Ann. Lainie enjoyed the water and loved sailing with her husband every chance that she could. She is survived by her sons, Donald Morgan Jr. and his wife, Jocelyn, of Concord, Calif., John Morgan, of Gloucester; two grandchildren, Jason and Julia Morgan, of California; and a very dear and close cousin, Nancy Batten, of Gloucester. She was predeceased by her sister, Darlene Coakley.
