Marcia J. (Lacerda) Cammett

West Newbury, MA — Marcia J. (Lacerda) Cammett, 65, of West Newbury, died peacefully at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, on Sunday afternoon, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Gloucester, July 29, 1948, she was the daughter of Sylvia (Gordon) Lacerda of Gloucester and the late Leonard L. Lacerda. Marcia was a graduate of Gloucester High Scool, Class of 1966, and the Addison Gilbert School of Nursing in 1967.

Marcia was a devoted wife and mother, proud grandmother, and true friend to many, always there to lend a helping hand doing whatever needed to be done. She also spent countless hours as a volunteer and caregiver for many people and organizations.

Marcia worked hand in hand with her husband, “Woody” Cammett, as the office manager for Cammett Engineering in Amesbury.

The simple pleasures in her life were making wedding cakes, making gingerbread houses at Christmas time, and swapping Christmas cookies with friends and family, golfing with friends.

Her greatest joy came from being “Gram."

In addition to her husband, Woodbury C. “Woody” Cammett of West Newbury, and her mother, Sylvia, she is survived by her two sons, Stephen Cammett and wife, Lori, of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and Tim Cammett and wife, Patricia, of Haverhill; her grandchildren, who filled her heart with such joy, Courtney, Caitlin, Cecilia, and Riley; her sister, Diane L. Havener and husband, John, of Gloucester; her sister-in-law, Eileen F. Lacerda of Amesbury; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Leonard “Scott” Lacerda, who died in 2010.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be on Wednesday, August 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, 2 School Street, Amesbury. Interment in Bridge Street Cemetery, West Newbury, will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Amesbury Education Foundation, Inc., P. O.
