Lanesville, Mass. — Paul M. D’Antonio, 50, beloved husband of Kimberly (Crosby) D’Antonio; father of Alyssa and Joshua D'Antonio of Lanesville, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, December 9, 2012.
Born in Inglewood, Calif. on September 15, 1962, he was the son of Anna (Putaansuu) D’Antonio of Gloucester and the late R. Fred D’Antonio. Paul was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the class of 1980 and later served for four years in the U.S. Air Force.
He worked for over twenty years as a senior manufacturing specialist at Axcelis Technologies where he led the second shift at the plant in Beverly and abroad as he travelled for his work. He took pride in his work and the opportunities it afforded him in his travel to see the world.
Paul will be remembered for his selflessness, giving of his time and energy to help anyone who asked in any task no matter how large or small. He was devoted to his family and his community and enjoyed making himself of service in any way he could. He spent his free time with his woodworking, often carving replica dories and animals for the many children that held a special place in his heart. Paul was also an integral part of the restoration project of Lane's Cove Shack and spent his weekends working alongside many good friends.
Paul was a loving husband, father, son, uncle and friend. His warm demeanor and sense of humor endeared him to all and his sense of integrity will leave an impression on those who knew him.
