FORT MYERS, FL — Robert H. “Robbie” Knowles, Jr., 48, formerly of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly of heart failure on Friday, December 7, 2012, at the Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. He was the husband of Traci (Aikens) Knowles.
Born in Gloucester on September 10, 1964 he was the son of the late Robert H. “Stubby” Knowles, Sr. and Eleanor (McKay) Knowles. He was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1983.
Robbie had been employed by Gorton’s of Gloucester for over twenty-five years before moving to Florida in 2007. He enjoyed fishing on Little River and spending time with his many friends. Although he resided in Florida, Gloucester always remained home in his heart.
In addition to his wife of 15 years, he is survived by his children, Robbie Knowles and Stephanie Knowles; stepchildren, Brandon Brown and Ashley Brown; mother-in-law, Eileen Aikens, all of Fort Myers, Fla.; brother, Darrell Robinson of Essex; sister, Donna Knowles of Gloucester; niece, Erica Knowles; nephew, Mike Robinson; grandnephews, Mickey Robinson and Marcus Baxter; and grandniece, Jolie Robinson all of Gloucester. He is also survived by his step-granddaughter, Ariana Brown and godchild, Stacey Odum, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of Robbie’s life will take place on Saturday, December 29 in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 11 a.m. Prayers of committal will be held privately.
