Ruth V. Shorr, 93

Ruth Shorr, 93, of Rockport died Feb. 3, 2012 at Den Mar Nursing and Rehab in Rockport, Mass.

Born in Boston on Feb. 21, 1918 to Robert MacDonald and Florence Mackie, Ruth traveled extensively throughout her life, first as a child traveling with her actress mother, and in later years as an employee of the US Army Corps of Engineers. During her career Ruth lived and worked in Alaska, Morocco, Italy, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand, finally settling in Rockport in 1983 following her retirement. Ruth’s sister, Jean Lawler, formerly of Rockport, passed away in 2009 in Florida. Ruth is survived by nephews John, Jeffrey, Robert and Daniel Lawler; her nephew Gerald Lawler passed away in 2010.

ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will be private.

Arrangements are by the Burgess & Mackey Funeral Home, 201 Main St. Rockport, MA

She was also visited regularly by her lifelong friend, Dottie Eagleson, to sing their favorite songs and share childhood memories.

Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Marlo Mamede, who was lost at sea, his father, William F. Mamede of San Diego, CA. and his stepfather. Ralph K. Brown of Gloucester, MA.
