Gloucester, MA — Elizabeth V. (Mitchell) Kallio, 95, of Rockport, formerly of Elizabeth Road, Gloucester, wife of the late John Kallio, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 2, 2013 at the Den Mar Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born in Gloucester on June 24, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Ferris) Mitchell.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Gloucester High School. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and taking walks all around Gloucester. She was also a member of the Cape Ann Chapter 896, Women of the Moose and the Gloucester Fraternity Club.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Erwin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Virginia Ekborg and her husband Carl of Gloucester; two sons, John Moses and his wife Cynthia of South Portland, ME and Russell Moses of Cape Coral, FL; twelve grandchildren, Todd Erwin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Beth Beaulieu of Rockport, MA, Michael Erwin of Gloucester, MA, Ed Grooms of Rockport, MA, Carl Ekborg of Beverly, MA, Kelly Sutherland of Gloucester, MA, Elizabeth King of Norwood, MA, Jennifer Sperry of Gloucester, MA, Charlotte McGibbon of Gloucester, MA, Jessica Johnson of South Portland, ME, James Moses of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Renee Mitchell of Gloucester, MA; twenty-five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Elliott Moses; four sisters; four brothers; her first husband, Elliott Moses and her son-in-law, James Erwin.
ARRANGEMENTS: In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services.
