Gloucester — Sheila A. (Rossi) Whalen, 69, of Gloucester, wife of the late, James F. Whalen Jr., who passed away on December 18, 2012, passed away on January 8, 2013 at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston.
She was born in Lynn, on November 9, 1943, the daughter of the late, John Rossi and Edith (Doyle) Rossi.
Sheila graduated from Boston College with the Class of 1965. She dabbled in oil painting in her studio before starting up her own business in interior decorating. She was an award winning interior designer and opened her very successful “Timeless Interiors” about 17 years ago. She was located in Prides Crossing and then moved her shop to Railroad Avenue in Hamilton. She enjoyed going to the North Shore Music Theater in Beverly, and the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport. Sheila was a huge fan of the beach and took in Wingaersheek Beach every chance she could.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Whalen and his wife, Lauren of Manchester; two brothers, Jack Rossi and his wife, Joan of Lynnfield, and Dan Rossi and his wife, Gerri of Ipswich, and her sister, Sharon (Rossi) Cahill and her husband Art of Naples, Fla.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, on Tuesday, January 15 at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
