Gloucester — Phyllis Muise Nicolosi, 94, of Gloucester, wife of the late, Salvatore Nicolosi, passed away in the early morning of Monday, January 14, 2013, in the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Phyllis was born in Gloucester, on August 20, 1918, the daughter of the late Harold and Winifred (Lufkin) Spates.
She was a past member of the Women of the Moose, as well as a past president of the American Legion, Lester S. Wass Post, Number 3, Gloucester, Auxilliary, and a member of their Color Guard. Being very patriotic, she did her part by knitting booties for the military troops.
She was a loving mother, adoring nana and a very good friend to all and she will be missed. She is survived by her son, Donald Muise and his wife, Jane, of Gloucester; daughter, Sally Matheson of Peabody; grandchildren, Dawn Muise and her fiance, Scott, of Florida, Allison Muise of Gloucester, Daniel Muise and his fiancé, Nicole, of Gloucester, Clifford Matheson and Gregory Matheson of Peabody and Christopher Matheson and his wife, Jamie, of Bow, N.H.; great-grandchildren, C. J. Matheson and Mark Matheson, both of Stratham, N.H. and Daniel Muise of Gloucester and a special friend, Diane Muise of Gloucester.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, on Thursday, January 17 at 11 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Visiting hours will be held before her service from 9-11 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
