Robert G. Willett, 81


Rockport — Robert G. Willett, 81, husband of Margaret “Marnie” L. (Fraser) Willett, of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Elkton, Md. on May 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Frederick and Kathleen (Johnston) Willett.

Bob had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953 aboard the USS Coral Sea.

He then went to work as a ships carpenter in Boston and later as a master carpenter for Herbie Goodick for many years before retiring.

In his spare time he was an avid model airplane builder and flyer.

In addition to his wife Marnie, he is survived by his nephews, Kenneth Willett of Munich, Germany and Charles Willett of Maynard.

ARRANGEMENTS: A private memorial service will be held in the Burgess & Mackey Funeral Home, 201 Main Street, Rockport.
