Annie T. Curcuru, 94

Gloucester, MA — Annie T. “Aunt Annie” (Nicastro) Curcuru, 94, wife of the late Salvatore J. “Red Top” Curcuru, of Gloucester, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital surrounded by her very loving family

Born in Gloucester on August 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Grace (Bologna) Nicastro.

For many years, Annie had worked as a fish packer at General Seafoods and was a member of the Seafood workers Retired Union. She was also a former member of the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church Women’s Guild.

In her spare time, Annie loved to knit and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She enjoyed playing the Daily Numbers Game.

Most of all, Annie was a devoted mother and grandmother and cherished her daily calls from her family & friends.

She is survived by her sons James Curcuru and wife Marilyn, Anthony Curcuru and wife Eleanor; grandchildren, Lynanne Curcuru, Michelle Baran and husband John, Christopher Curcuru and wife Martha, Alissa Curcuru, Jimmy Curcuru and companion Amanda Silva, Anthony Curcuru and fiancé Diane Swisher; great grandchildren, Aidan Baran, Miranda Baran, Salvatore Curcuru, Phoenix Curcuru, Nevaeh Moody; her very special friend Phyllis Curcuru; sisters-in-law, Mary Nicastro and husband Jerry, Philomena “Menna” Middleton; and many special nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and all of her very many friends at the Curtis Clark Building.

In addition to her husband Sam, she was predeceased by her sons John and Sammy Curcuru; brother Sam Nicastro and wife Mary; sisters, Fillippa Loiacano and husband Alerio, Jenny Verga and husband Dominic , Angela Curcuru and husband Joseph, Grace Pallazola and husband Gasper, Mary Parisi and husband John; mother and father-in-law Benjamin and Josephine Curcuru; sisters and brothers-in-law, John “Gene” Curcuru and wives Jean and Dorothy, Felicia Ciaramitaro and husband Joseph, Charles Curcuru and wife Margaret, Josie Orlando and husband Sam, Rose Brancaleone and husband Bob, Phillip Curcuru and wife Barbara, Joseph Curcuru and wife Marian, Nina Ciulla and husband Frank and Edward “Gint” Middleton.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Wednesday, September 19th at 10:15 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Ann’s Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
