Geraldine Anderson, 92


Geraldine F. Anderson of 69 Saco Woods Drive in Cornish, Maine passed away at 92 years of age on Friday, April 6, 2012. Geraldine was born in Gloucester, Mass. in 1919, the daughter of George Angus MacInnis and Etta May Tanner MacInnis. She was educated in the Gloucester Public Schools and graduated with high honors in 1936. She worked in banking all of her adult life, first at the Gloucester Cooperative Bank and then at State Street Bank in Boston, Mass.

Geraldine lived for many years on the cove in Annisquam, Mass. and moved to Rockport, Mass. after losing her husband. She moved to Maine to be near her family six years ago and enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners for everyone.

She was pre-deceased by her first husband, George "Dapper" Pendleton and her second husband Eugene James Anderson. She was also pre-deceased by her four sisters: Marguerite Pike, Florence Lacey, Pauline Gates and Muriel Bowles

She is survived by her daughter Nan Gurley Mavris and her son-in-law Peter James Mavris of Parsonsfield, ME. Her grandchildren: Joshua Gurley of Parsonsfield, ME., Rachel Gurley of Scarborough, ME. and Kimberly Kelley of Parsonsfield, ME. Six great grandchildren: Zira Lyons, Lazlo Lyons, Tessa Lyons, Lila Lyons, Eden Lyons and Kyle Marks. She is also survived by her niece Stephanie Martell and her family from Gloucester, Mass.

In her retirement years she worked at her daughter's antique shows where she made many friends and will be missed.
