Robert D. McTighe Sr., 59, of Rockport, MA, husband of the Susan (Adams) McTighe, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
He was born in Stoneham, MA on October 17, 1952, son of Shirley M. (Phalon) McTighe and the late Robert L. McTighe.
He was a graduate of Stoneham High School and attended Northeastern and North Shore Community College. He worked for many years at Varian and at CPI.
Bob's interests include Civil War History, visiting various battlefields and his love of cars, especially Jeeps.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan (Adams) McTighe of Rockport, formerly of Woburn; his mother, Shirley McTighe of Stoneham; his daughter, Katie Tondreault and her husband Seth of NH; two sons, Robert McTighe and his partner Kathleen of NC and Timothy McTighe and his friend Maura of Rockport; sisters, Pat Lambert and her partner Steve and Linda McTighe and her partner Jeff; brothers, Ken McTighe and his fiancé Phyllis and Jack McTighe and his partner Marianne, all of MA; brothers-in-law, Robert Adams and his wife Nancy of OH and Peter Adams of MA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours in the Burgess and Mackey Funeral Home, 201 Main St., Rockport are on Sunday, April 15, from 2 – 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
There will be no funeral services and the burial will be private.
