Patrick Mullen

Concord, NH — Patrick Mullen, well-loved brother, uncle and fixture on the Gloucester waterfront, passed away on September 27, in Concord, N.H., after a long illness.

Pat was born at Addison Gilbert Hospital on November 29, 1949, and was the second of six children.

He spent his life in Gloucester, working as a longshoreman, cultivating many friendships, and quietly helping the people he cared about. Children in the family benefited from rides to school or karate, as well as the occasional scratch ticket, or package of hot dogs. Pat was a military history buff, with a particular interest in WWII, and was also an avid fan of old Westerns and John Wayne.

Pat is predeceased by his parents, Henry Mullen and Miriam (Mattson) Mullen; his brother, John Mullen; and nephew, Thomas Mullen. He is survived by brothers, Matt, Peter and Charles Mullen; sister, Ann Silva, and her husband, Peter. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Janet Mullen. He will be missed by his nieces, nephew and great-nieces and great-nephews, who loved their “Uncle Pallet”; and his adored little beagle, Sheba.

Enigmatic, generous, single-minded, and loyal, Pat will be missed by many.
