Glen Lyon, PA — Lucy St. Pierre, 86, formerly of Essex, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Glen Lyon, Pa., on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Born in Rockport, Mass., on July 4, 1927, she was the daughter of John Alexander and Mary E. Sheehan.
Following the death of her stepfather, William Fernandez, Lucy and her husband, Lucien, ran the Union Transportation Trucking Co. located on Eastern Avenue in Gloucester, Mass., until the company closed in the early 1970s. They raised two children, Robert and Elizabeth, in their home off Story Street in Essex, where they resided until 1994.
Lucy enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, gardening, and spending time lovingly caring for her family. While in Essex, she loved to spend her mornings at the Village Bakery visiting with her many friends. After leaving Essex in 1994, she lived with her son in Sterling, Va., until December 2010, when she moved to Pennsylvania to live with her daughter.
Lucy was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Alexander; her grandson, Robert J. Joffe; her sister, Mary McGough; and her husband, Lucien. She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife, Donna, of Sterling; her daughter, Elizabeth Joffe and her husband, Peter, of Glen Lyon; her brother, John Alexander and his wife, Marilyn, of Ohio; and granddaughter, Melissa Kubicki and her husband, Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Michael Robert Kubicki, of Chesapeake, Va.
She was loved, and will be missed beyond measure.
