Gloucester — Angelina V. “Angie” (Laiacano) Parisi, 91, wife of the late Anthony J. “Jike” Parisi, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She attended Gloucester schools and worked for many years at O’Donnell-Usen Fisheries. Angie was a member of the Madonna del Rosario Society, Mother of Grace Club, Holy Family Ladies Guild, the Retired Seafood Workers Union and the Rose Baker Senior Center.
Angie’s family meant the world to her. Some of her favorite pastimes included Sunday dinners with her family and spending time with her knitting club girls for over 50 years. She also enjoyed day trips to Connecticut, going out to dinner with her special friend Florence Curcuru, playing bingo at the Senior Center and especially knitting sweaters and slippers for her family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, Florence Martin and her companion, Larry McEachern, Philip Parisi and wife Ann Marie, Ann Marie Fitzgerald and husband John; grandchildren, Ralph Martin Jr. and wife Lisa, Anthony Martin and companion Heather, Michael Martin, Jean Allen and husband Robert, Angela Parisi and wife Jodi, Angela Cote and husband Steve, Jonathan Fitzgerald and fiancé Rachel; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Thomas Martin, Jarrod Martin and mother Jill Diliberti, Maxwell and Emma Allen, Ava and Alec Cote; her special brother, Anthony “Chubby” Laiacano and wife Cynthia; brother-in-law, Joseph Parisi and wife Jenny; sisters-in-law, Nina Curcuru and Mary Parisi; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Anthony, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Ralph Martin; sisters, Antoinette Palazola, Rose Palazola, Josephine Curcuru; and brothers, Joseph, Jerome and Salvatore Laiacano.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Tuesday, October 29, at 9:45 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
