Gloucester, MA — Richard "Dick" Adams, son of Thomas Earl Adams and Leanora Ramsey Adams, passed away on Sept. 4, after a battle with cancer with his family by his side.
He had a long career in the fishing industry, which began by his father's side at the age of ten and finished his career as a Production Manager at Gorton's in both California and Gloucester. He retired in 1990.
He leaves behind his wife, Jane, whom he shared fifty eight years of marriage with. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his daughters, Tammy Dunphy, wife of Brian, Donna Muise, widow of Timothy, Nancy Olsson, wife of Mathz and Teresa Lord, wife of Dan and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Earl "Sonny," and sisters, June Mitchell and Clara "Molly" Auditore.
ARRANGEMENTS: A candlelight service to celebrate his life will be held for family and friends at Stacy Boulevard in Gloucester near the Fishermen's Wives Statue on Saturday, September 21, at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts and donations in his name can be sent to the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, Mass.
