Dorothy L. (Bicknell) Dankner of Reading, MA died March 3, 2012 at the Wingate of Reading Nursing Facility. She was 79 years young. Dorothy was born in Providence, RI on July 30, 1932, the daughter of the late Luke and Effie (Johnson) Bicknell. Dorothy grew up with her family spending many memorable years in Gloucester, MA. She graduated from Fisher Junior College in 1952 with a legal secretary major. She was employed with many Boston law firms ending with a 20 year career at Choate Hall & Stewart. Dorothy married Murray Dankner in 1975 after having met while bowling. They moved to Reading in 1977 and enjoyed their home, family, golf and traveling. Her family and friends were very important to her along with her three devoted dogs, Candy, Pepper & Muffin. Dorothy was the beloved sister of Ruth (Bicknell) Goodick of Gloucester, MA, Rebecca (Bicknell) Brigham of Sarasota, FL, the late Carolyn (Bicknell) Kinney, Paul Bicknell and sister in law of Joseph Kinney of Townsend, MA, and many cousins. Dorothy often said “God made her an aunt”; she is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: The funeral services for Dorothy are private and there are no calling hours. Burial will be in the Bicknell family lot in Rockport, MA. Arrangements will be made for the spring.
