Anthony D. Vecchione, 87


Essex, MA — Anthony D. Vecchione, 87, husband of the late Barbara L. (Pratt) Vecchione, of Essex, formerly of Rockport, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, surrounded by his family at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Newton on December 22, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bernice (Deluca) Vecchione.

Anthony worked as a stone mason his whole life and was well known for his talented work.

He is survived by his seven children, Bernice and Michael Kovalchuck, Anthony Vecchione Jr., Frederick Vecchione, David Vecchione and wife, Robin, Mark Vecchione, Barbara Roller and husband, Stephen, Adam Vecchione and wife, Shelley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mike and Joseph Vecchione, and Anna Wildes.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he was predeceased by his sisters, Edith, Rosie and Louise.

The Vecchione family would like to thank the Seacoast Nursing Home family for the wonderful care he received.

ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 14, at 11 a.m., in Beech Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
