Gloucester, MA — Helen E. (Carroll) Tarbox, 90, of Gloucester, died on Wednesday evening, July 31, 2012 at the Golden Living Center. She was born in Gloucester on August 19, 1921, daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Larson) Carroll.
Helen took great pride in being a homemaker. She loved life and was very thankful and spiritual. She was an avid Red Sox fan, having travelled to New York just to watch the Red Sox play.
Helen will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted son, Peter J. Tarbox of Gloucester; her niece, Toby J. Dechene of Boxford; nephew and godson, Dana R. Borge and his wife Sherry of Gloucester; nephews, John E. “Jack” Borge and wife Florence “Flo” of Gloucester, Wayne Borge and wife Diane of New Hampshire and Edward Carroll of Tulsa, OK and several cousins including Jean Knight and George “Terry” Dutton Jr. and wife Jean of Gloucester. Helen’s nieces and cousins were very close to her and were thought of as daughters.
She was predeceased by her brother, Francis N. Carroll; two sisters, Eleanor Tarr and Margaret Borge Parisi, her great-niece Faye Poole and her special friend, Regis Perkins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street on Monday, August 6th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home will be held on Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m.
