Gloucester, MA — Lacinia L. (Louro) Correia, 83, of Gloucester, wife of Anibal Correia, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 18, 2013, at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Ilhavo, Portugal on May 21, 1930, daughter of the late Manuel and Alzira (Sacramento) Louro.
In her earlier years, she worked with the elderly in California and later moved to Gloucester and was employed for a few years as a fish packer at Gorton’s of Gloucester.
Lacinia enjoyed crocheting, cooking and eating out. She also had a great love for ice cream.
She was a loving and caring person who had a great sense of humor, always teasing people.
Lacinia was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church and was a member of the D.E.S. Club.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Anibal Correia of Gloucester and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester on Tuesday, June 25, at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home are on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
