Donald A. Cook, 75


Beverly — Donald A. “Don” Cook, 75, of Beverly, formerly of Gloucester, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Mass General Hospital on Sunday, September 30th, 2012.

He was born in Boston on October 11, 1936, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Following his service to his country, he was employed by Polaroid Corporation in Waltham for over 35 years. He also was a member of the Polaroid "Cement Heads" from 1983-2012. Following his retirement, he and his late wife Judith (Nelson), who passed away in 2007, enjoyed their special times at their condo in Kennebunk, Maine.

Don was a kind, caring man who thought of others before himself and will be missed by any who knew him. Dad, Grampy, we love you and will treasure the fond memories and have "good thoughts" of you always.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeannine, husband of Anthony Ellis; his beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Jr., and Brittaney as well as his special granddog, Jada. He also leaves his brothers, Earle F. Cook and his wife Velma of Naples, Fla., Russell P. Cook and his wife Joan of San Diego, Calif. and his nieces and nephews.
