Gloucester — Mr. William F. Morris, 62, of Gloucester, beloved husband of the late Mary (Moore) Morris, died Thursday morning, surrounded by his family at his home following a brief illness. He was affectionately known as Uncle Billy.
Born in Gloucester, he was the son of the late Floyd E. and Esther N. (Dorman) Morris. He was raised and educated in Gloucester and later in life took courses for his vocation.
Mr. Morris was employed as a tool and dye maker with Avenger Metals of Ipswich until the time of his illness.
Uncle Billy had a true love of family. He was a life-long resident of Gloucester who loved to fish.
William is survived by his daughters, Kim Morris of Amesbury and Shannon Austhof and her husband, Steve, of Michigan; his son, Ryan Morris of Gloucester; his three grandchildren, Breana, Bryce and Jessie; his sister, Eva Kollander of Maine; his brother, Robert Morris of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Farrell, Elliot and Russell Morris.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his “Life Party” which will be held at the Dog Bar Cape Ann, 65 Main St., Gloucester, on Sunday, April 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. His eulogy will be read at 2:30 p.m. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers.
