Philip LoPiccolo, 85, husband of Victoria (Zappa) LoPiccolo, of Gloucester, passed away on Friday evening, April 27, 2012, at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his family, following an extended illness.
Mr. LoPiccolo was born in Terrasini, Italy on January 5, 1927, son of the late Giacamo and Grazia (Russo) LoPiccolo and his maternal mother Guiseppina LoPiccolo.
He came to this country at the age of 18 and became a fisherman and a cook aboard several fishing vessels. He was a member of the St. Peter’s Club, the Gloucester Lodge of Elks.
In addition to his wife Victoria, he is survived by his daughter Joyce LoPiccolo and companion Ken Leavitt; his son Jack LoPiccolo and wife Kelley; grandchildren, Victoria Byrnes, Philip Byrnes, Sean Byrnes, Jack LoPiccolo, Erica Pallazola, Alicia Garrett; great grandchildren, Corrina Garrett, Madison Lutz Byrnes; sisters-in-law Maryann Orlando and husband Joseph, Catherine Favazza, Rosalie Zappa; and many nieces and nephews in Gloucester and Terrasini, Italy.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Providenzia Bologna and husband Salvatore; brother Guiseppe LoPiccolo; brother-in-law James “Skippy” Favazza; father and mother-in-law Joseph and Connie Zappa.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 1st at 11:30 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
There are no visiting hours.
