Gloucester, MA — Alice G. “Gerry” Strople, 84, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday afternoon, December 22, 2012 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Gloucester, MA on June 3, 1928, daughter of the late Fred and Lillier (Dennison) Strople.
Gerry was employed as a shirt presser for several local businesses including Union Hill Cleaners, Greels Cleaners and later at DeMarco’s Cleaners.
She enjoyed baking for her family and loved being at home. She was quite the homemaker.
Gerry will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two nieces, Carolyn Clarke and her husband Richard and Patricia McCarthy all of Essex; many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; special friends, Ann, Theresa and Jane.
She was predeceased by five sisters, Marjorie Benjamin, Muriel McNair, Lillia Hilshey, Lucille Strople and Jean Strople and three brothers, Robert Strople, Donald Strople and Stanley Strople.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann’s Church, Holy Family Parish on Friday, December 28, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
A visiting hour will precede the Mass in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester on Friday from 9 – 10 a.m.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
