Esther Louise (Poole) Limbaugh

Bonita Springs, Fl — Mrs. Esther Louise (Poole) Limbaugh passed away peacefully on May 5, 2013, with her loving and devoted husband, Robert Limbaugh, at her side. Together they shared 34 years of marriage. She was the daughter of Louise Poole and the late Richard Poole. She grew up in Rockport and graduated from Rockport High School in 1969.

She worked for more than 18 years as a construction supervisor for Kraft Construction. Mrs. Limbaugh worked on many of the high-rise condominiums on Florida's west coast, from Ft. Myers to Marco Island. While boating with her family, when asked which ones were hers, she would laugh and say, "Well, basically, all of them." Continuing with a story or two about each project. She despised a long commute, and her boss, who valued her immensely, always made sure to keep her local. For Kraft, she spent many years as a buck hoist operator, as well as doing punch out lists for the condo buyers, working seamlessly with them and the trades to make sure that the buyers needs were always attended to properly.

When not working, Esther and her husband, Robert, tended a home farm complete with miniature horses, chickens and even ostriches. The animals knew what a loving kind heart she had and strays of all varieties, especially cats, always made their way to her door and were welcomed and offered a home.

She had a wonderful sense of humor, always laughing at the ironies of life. Thoughtfulness was just a way of being for her, ingrained, always remembering the littlest thing about those she loved. She was very quick to share personal stories that always made one know how deeply she cared. As a person, who was more than capable of raising some Cain in her early years, if her feathers got ruffled in her later years, she would just smile and say, "It's just the Dicky in me! I come by it honestly!" — referring to her dear father.

The past few winters she was able to spend more time with her brothers when they visited Florida. They were able to spend much fun time together, but she especially delighted in pontoon boating in the back canals of Bonita where she could as she put it "check out everyone's back yards!" Esther will be dearly missed.

Her ashes were scattered earlier this month here in Rockport, returning home as she desired.

Esther is survived by her husband, Robert; her mother, Louise Poole; her brother, Stan Poole; her nephew, John Poole; her brother, Bob Poole; her sister-in-law, Ryann Flynn; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins; her stepchildren, Chris Limbaugh and his wife, Rhonda; her stepdaughter, Angela Pfeffer; and her grandchildren, Brendon Cain, Catherine Cain, Casey Pfeffer, Angela Seay, and Tina Seay. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Poole.
