St Petersburg, Florida. — Marcia E. Rust of Poplar St died Saturday, June 23 2012 in her home, following a battle with lung cancer. She was the daughter of the late Helen (McKenzie) Brown and the late Donald Brown.
Born in Gloucester Massachusetts on January 24, 1939. She was raised in Riverdale and attended public schools in Gloucester Ma. In her childhood years she loved horses and excelled in ballet. As a young woman, she worked as an X-ray technician for 14 yrs. Her love for caring for others continued on as she worked as a home health aide in the greater Boston area and later in St Petersburg Fla.
In 1964 she moved to an old farm house on Grove St in Essex Massachusetts with her then husband Dexter Rust. She spent the next 20 years raising her three sons. With 3 very active boys some of her daily duties consisted of keeping them from falling out of trees, launching hockey pucks through living room windows and driving them to the hospital for their numerous sets of stitches. We love you Mom, you were always there for us when we needed you!
10 years ago she traded her goose down “paka” for a bikini and headed south to live in St Petersburg, Florida. Here she enjoyed “the good life” with her companion Donald Gottwald of Pennsylvania. They spent most of their time traveling, dancing and enjoying the beautiful local beaches.
Marcia “Bonnie” is survived by her 3 sons Gary Dexter of Pleasant Hill Ca, Kevin Brown and Matthew James both of Truckee Ca. Also, 3 granddaughters Carter McKenzie, Rylee Addison, Aubrynn Shea and grandson Keaton Nathaniel.
