Joy Campbell, 58

Seabrook, N.H. — Joy L. Campbell, 58, of Seabrook, N.H., passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joy was born September 21, 1954, and grew up in Manchester, Mass. She graduated from Framingham State with a degree in education. She spent the last 15 years working at the Freeport Public Schools in Maine before moving back to the Newburyport area to be closer to family and her granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Campbell of Seabrook. She also leaves behind her two daughters, Brianne and her husband Thomas Hopp of Amesbury and Brittany and her husband Andrew Shapiro of Boston. Joy enjoyed her new role as grandmother to Amelia Hopp. Joy is also survived by her mother Patricia Fairhurst of Magnolia; her sister Holly and husband Henry Ballester of Bushnell Fla.; her sister Judy and husband Charlie Spaniak of Beverly; brother David and wife Rebecca Clement of Deerfield N.H.; and sisters-in-law Diane Campbell and Cheryl Campbell of Manchester, Mass.

During her illness, Joy was an inspiration to everyone she touched. She maintained a positive attitude and her strength was unsurpassable. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral arrangements have been made for Saturday, October 27, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Beverly Farms.
