Gloucester — Ruth F. (Hunter) Nelson, 72, of Gloucester, wife of John V. Nelson passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Addison Gilbert Hospital.
She was born in Plymouth, on June 3, 1940, daughter of the late Donald and Clara (Moody) Hunter.
Ruth attended Central Grammar School. Throughout her life she enjoyed doing many things which included, crafting, going to yard sales, camping, cooking and watching QVC. She also loved her trips to Foxwoods, casino cruises and her scratch tickets.
Ruth could often be seen at her favorite place having a cup of tea and dinner with her husband on Wednesdays at Christine’s Coffee Cup and she enjoyed making homemade fried dough while camping.
She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John V. Nelson of Gloucester; two sons, Wayne V. Nelson and his wife Keri of Gloucester and Shawn S. Nelson and his fiancé Angel Lizotte of Salem; her daughter, Deborah A. Muise and her husband Kenneth Sr. of Gloucester; ten grandchildren, Vanessa M. Nelson, Tiffany A. Nelson both of Maine, Christopher W. Nelson, Lucas V. Nelson and Thomas J. Nelson all of Gloucester, Baylee E. Nelson and Vanessa McKinnon both of Salem, Kendra M. Mattson and her fiancé Greg Romanuk, Kimberly M. Muise and her fiancé Leonard Ciaramitaro and Kenneth M. Muise Jr. and his fiancé Nicole Duchane all of Gloucester; three great-grandchildren, David N. Mattson, Zackary K. Hendrickson and Teagen Leslie-Nicole Ciaramitaro; two brothers, David Hunter and his wife Elizabeth (Herrick) and Donald Hunter and his wife Marie (Piscitello), all of Gloucester and her special friends, Albert Williams and his wife June and their family, of Florida; Joanne and her husband Harley Seaton and their family of Hampton. She was predeceased by her sisters, Gertrude Nixon and Donna Francis.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Graveside Service will be held in Seaside Cemetery, Gloucester on Thursday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Monday, October 22, from 4 – 8 p.m.
