Gloucester, MA — Lynne A. Johnson, 57, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly in Gloucester on Friday, April 26, 2013. Lynne was born in Ft. Dix, N.J., on September 2, 1955, the daughter of the late Carl E. and Jean M. (George) Johnson. Lynne grew up in Lanesville and graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1972. She attended North Shore Community College before enlisting in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged after serving three years stationed in Germany. Lynne was a kind, caring, loving and generous person with a strong faith. She loved the ocean, mountains, music, friends and family. Lynne touched countless lives and was blessed with many lifelong friends who, along with her family, will miss her tremendously. Lynne is survived by her daughter, Rachel Merchant, as well as her brothers, Carl Johnson and his wife, Miranda and their children Emily, Sarah and Laura of Gloucester; Christopher Johnson and his wife, Denise and sons Joshua and Jeremiah of Rex, Ga.; Steve Johnson and his wife, Jane and their children Danielle, Andrew and Samantha of Abbington, Mass.; also her daughter’s father, Ron Merchant Jr. of Gloucester.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Burgess & Mackey Funeral Home, 201 Main St., Rockport. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1123 Washington St. in Gloucester. Family and friends are cordially invited. Burial will follow immediately at Seaside Cemetery, Lanesville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to The Open Door Food Pantry, 28 Emerson Ave. Gloucester, MA, 01930.
