Marianne (Parisi) Curcuru, 65

Gloucester, MA — Marianne J. (Parisi) Curcuru died peacefully on May 13, 2013, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Gloucester on July 30, 1947, she was the loving daughter of the late Dominic and Vincie (Scola) Parisi. She was raised in Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1965.

Marianne was a wonderful, caring, beautiful mother, sister, daughter, cousin and friend to many. She lived in California with her family for close to 20 years before returning to her hometown of Gloucester in 1989. Marianne was always a hard worker. She spent many years waitressing at Friendly’s, and most recently she was employed at Shaw’s in East Gloucester, which she enjoyed, before retiring in 2012. She loved winter trips to Florida, ‘cousins’ dinners, summer days at the beach, going out for breakfast with close friends and family, and going to the movies.

She was very close to her family and dedicated her life to her children, supporting each of them in their endeavors and dreams, and would often quote, “you can do anything you want to do.” She believed in them and gave all of herself to her children. She will be deeply, deeply, missed.

She is survived by her sister, Ida Parisi; her beloved children, Christina (Curcuru) Kalinowsky and husband, Joel, of Gloucester, Steven Curcuru of Los Angeles Calif., and Anthony Curcuru of Gloucester; as well as many special cousins, relatives and close friends, whom she adored.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dominic and Vincie.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Parish, St. Ann’s Church. All family and friends are invited to attend.
