Kenneth Andrew Anderson, 84

Annandale, Virginia — Kenneth Andrew Anderson, age 84 of Fairfax, Virginia passed away, peacefully at home on June 1, 2013 surrounded by his Wife and Children

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Frederick & Tyyne Anderson and brother Irving F. Anderson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Margie Banks Anderson and his children, Kenneth A. Anderson Jr., Carol Kim Stone (John)., Brian R. Anderson (Janet), Cheryl L. Anderson and Alisa C. Clark (Noal) his brothers, Clay Anderson, Robert Anderson and sister Anita Patti (Jim) his grandchildren David Stone, Paul Anderson, Andrew, Peter, James VanCleave, Emmaline & Caroline Clark and two great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives.

He was born in N. Abbingdon, MA in 1928, and spent his childhood in Gloucester, MA. Ken attended Gloucester High School and The Bentley College in MA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal. Ken became a CPA in 1959 and began his business career as an Auditor with the Federal Government in Boston and left to begin a successful CPA practice in Northern Virginia and Leesburg in 1969 and never retired. Ken was an avid tennis player and was 2nd in Seniors Doubles at the National tournament in Phoenix, AZ. Ken was also an expert in the field on Indian Medicine bottle & advertising and authored the book Victorian Advertising of Gloucester. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, dancing, visiting Gloucester, MA every summer which he always considered his hometown. He always had a ready smile, encouraging words and sound advice.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, June 6th, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Friday at 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Graveside burial at the Fairfax Memorial Park.
