Edward P. Caffarella, 92


Rockport — formerly of Saugus, September 29th. Beloved husband of the late Ethel A. Caffarella. Loving father of Edward P. Caffarella, Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Ithaca, N.Y., Barbara L. Cann and her husband James of Westford; cherished grandfather of Christina Zaidi, Bethany Cann, and David Cann; devoted great-grandfather of Christian, Levi, and Luke.

He graced this world with his presence for nearly ninety-three years leaving the world a better place. He was raised in Saugus working on farms in North Saugus and delivering ice cut from the ponds in town. He was a Prisoner of War in World War II. He was active in the Saugus Center United Methodist Church, leading the efforts to rebuild the church after both of the devastating fires. He sold and developed real estate in Saugus for nearly fifty years as the town grew from a rural hamlet to a Boston suburb. For many years he was the window clerk at the Cliftondale Post Office.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held at the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus on Wednesday at 10 a.m. , relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. For directions & condolences www.BisbeePorcella.com
