Gloucester, MA — Otto J. Pecunies Jr., 56, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Addison Gilbert Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born in Gloucester on March 17, 1957, he was the son of the late Otto J. and Adele M. (Gray) Pecunies.
As a young man, Otto enjoyed working on cars and later worked at Americold for 17 years. For the past 25 years, he was a driver for Lighthouse Cab Co.
Otto was well known and very well liked by many in the Gloucester community. He possessed a very warm and easy going personality and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a group of very close friends that enjoyed passing the time at Dunkin Donuts. His kindness and friendship will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his devoted sister, Jo-Ann Pecunies-Curley and husband, Scott, of Gloucester; his brothers, Peter Pecunies and wife, Marilyn, of St. Cloud, Fla., William “Dickie” Pecunies and wife, Sharon, of Syracuse, N.Y.; his nephews and nieces, Scott Curley Jr., Trevor Curley, Wendy LaFond and husband, Wayne, Jill Marie MacFarland and husband, Charland, Jennifer Owens; and many greatnieces and greatnephews; and greatniece and godchild, Makenzie LaFond.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann’s Church on Thursday, August 22, at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
