Susan Marie Kyle, 57

Gloucester, MA — Susan ”Sue” Marie Kyle, 57, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on September 7, surrounded by her partner, family, friends and her 3 Italian greyhounds, Ruby, Bella and Niki.

She was born to Phyllis (Roberts) and the late George Kyle on March 26, 1956, in Milton, Mass.

She is survived by her partner, Elizabeth “Shawn” Wilson of Gloucester; mother, Phyllis Kyle of Gloucester; her brother, George and wife, Regina Kyle, of Arlington; her nephew, Andy Kyle, his wife, Margaret Kyle, and their children, George and Virginia of Arlington; niece, Molly Kyle and fiance, Jason Bellinger, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; uncle, Tom Roberts and companion, Paula O'Rourke of Easton, Mass.; Edward Wilson and his wife, Kathryn Wilson, of South Boston.

She grew up in Arlington.

She had an Engineering background from Wentworth Institute. She worked at WR Grace and Chomerics before opening her own business.

Sue was an entrepreneur and took great pride in her business ventures. She owned and operated Viga Italian Eatery & Caterer in Downtown Boston.

Sue was committed to giving back. She co-founded the Lights of Love Annual Fundraiser to benefit the Addison Gilbert Hospital Cancer Care Center in Gloucester. Through her business she had an annual fundraiser for Stand Up 2 Cancer.

Sue enjoyed construction projects, crossword puzzles, movies, jazz and running.

Sue was a very special person, with a quick wit and an amazing sense of humor. Sue lit up the room when she walked in with her contagious smile!

ARRANGEMENTS: On Saturday, September 21, at 4:00 p.m. there will be a Celebration of Life at her home in Gloucester.

Another deep pleasure was his days hiking in the Southwest – the Grand and Havasupai Canyons, the Four Corners area, the high desert around Flagstaff; he loved it all as well as the native people who lived here.

In 1934, she married George Hindy and they moved to Boston where they raised their five children. "Rosie" was the sweetest, most precious little lady with nothing but kind words always and was never judgmental.

After her marriage, she and her husband had resided in Arlington, Mass. and Hamden, Conn., before moving to Peabody 48 years ago. She had worked in her earlier years as a comptometer for First National Stores in Somerville. Mary loved to cook and the family enjoyed her famous clam dip. She also traveled with her husband and enjoyed playing Bridge and other card games. In her healthier years, she was a devout communicant of St. Ann’s Church.
