Ruth M. O'Brien


Haverhill — Ruth M. (Bowen) (Lundquist) O’Brien, 95, formerly of Gloucester, passed away on September 19, 2012 at The Oxford. Mrs. O’Brien was the wife of the late Arne Lundquist and Joseph O’Brien.

Born in Grand Rapids, MI on December 30, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sandow) Bowen.

Mrs. O’Brien moved from Michigan, and lived forty years in Gloucester where she worked as a real estate broker associated with Carlson Realty. She was a past president of the Gloucester Garden Club. Mrs. O’Brien appreciated historic architecture, and in 1997 purchased a large stately Victorian home in the Highlands section of Haverhill. Mrs. O’Brien was a self taught pianist who enjoyed composing music which she played for her own enjoyment.

She is survived by her son, Jan Lundquist of Allston.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Universalist Unitarian Church, 15 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill.
