Isabel D. (Dwyer) Johnson, 94, of Rockport, wife of the late Herbert E. Johnson, passed away early Monday morning, February 13, 2012 in the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester.
Isabel was born in Winchester, MA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy A. (Landers) Dwyer.
After graduating from Woburn High School, Isabel attended Business College.
Isabel worked as a school representative for New England Telephone for over 35 years. While there, she also did charitable work on behalf of the underprivileged.
She enjoyed playing bridge and golf, and was a member of the Bass Rocks Golf Club for many years. Attending St. Joachim’s church, she was a very active member of St. Joachim’s Women’s Guild.
Isabel was married to the late Herbert Johnson for 55 years, before he passed away in 2001. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joachim’s Church, Holy Family Parish, Broadway, Rockport. Family and friends are cordially invited.
There are no visiting hours and burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
