To the editor:
I am writing to extend many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Williams of Highlands Street, who rescued a mother duck and seven ducklings who were swimming in a puddle in their driveway.
With the help of a couple of neighbors, the ducklings were caught and placed in a carrier.
However, the mother duck would have none of it. So we all walked down to the mill pond with the mother duck following the carrier.
At the mill pond, Mrs. Williams set the ducklings free to be with their mother, and they all took off in "V" formation across the pond!
