For three Saturdays each summer, Gloucester’s downtown comes uniquely alive with its five-year-old series of block parties, featuring outdoor dining and a wide range of arts and entertainment presentations.
Today, tomorrow and this Saturday, however, mark the return of downtown’s 54th Sidewalk Bazaar, which not only showcases much of Main Street in block party fashion, but puts the focus on the unique wares shoppers can find in downtown stores as well.
For these three days, merchants, restaurateurs and a number of local and regional nonprofit agencies literally take their business to the street. And with local artists, musicians and dancers providing a lively backdrop, they create a truly exciting environment for buyers and sellers alike, with a special taste of Downtown Gloucester hospitality and pride.
