To the editor:
We, as Rockport taxpayers, now have a choice of who we elect to very important town management positions such as selectman's seats and town clerk.
This very important due process should never be taken away.
Our right to choose who represents us in our local government should stay that way. Our town clerk's position should not become an "anointed" position for life, chosen by unopposed selectmen.
I have had the pleasure of knowing John Arnold personally and professionally for over 15 years.
