I support Cameron Smith as a write-in candidate for Planning Board.
I've known and worked with Cameron for decades and can attest that he is a highly intelligent, dedicated, and tireless Rockporter. We'd be lucky to have him on the Planning Board, and can be assured he would look out for the best interests of our town.
When I served two terms on the School Committee, I saw first-hand in terms of dollar donations to our school system the great benefits of his leadership as president of the Educational Foundation for Rockport. He also served as a volunteer teacher in the middle school.
We see further evidence of his abilities when we consider the dynamic role the new Shalin Liu Performance Center plays in our town, and understand that Cameron served as chairman of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival. He also brings to the Planning Board his 17 years as a consultant, helping corporate and public-sector clients improve through strategic planning and related techniques.
Such experience plus engineering and business administration degrees from Yale and MIT, followed by 13 years in business management all say to me that Cameron Smith is a winning candidate for Planning Board.
