---- — When the new Lahey Health System was forged last year from the merger between Lahey Clinic and Northeast Health System — with its Addison Gilbert Hospital — one of the most important conditions mandated as part of the state approval was a requirement to hold regular, biannual community forums.
The idea was to give local residents and officials input to Lahey leaders, and to hold Lahey’s feet to the fire regarding transparency — and both of those goals should provide regular opportunities for all involved to keep close eyes on any steps related to the future of Addison Gilbert, which remains a health-care lifeline for the people of Cape Ann.
But that can only happen if these forums draw community interest and support. And if you do want input, or want to hear the latest updates regarding AGH and its place within Lahey Health, tonight’s the night.
AGH Vice President Cindy Cafasso Donaldson and AGH/Beverly Hospital CEO Denis Conroy will host the second such forum tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Cruiseport Gloucester, with an eye toward providing you the latest information Lahey can offer and to hear your comments and questions as well.
Let’s hope this event draws the turnout it deserves.
