To the editor:
The March 21 “My View” struck a kindred chord, and drew me once again to the magnets on my fridge.
The first magnet by Tolstoy reads, “Of all of the things that happen to man (or woman) old age is the most unexpected.”
And, “inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the hell happened.”
Maurice Chevalier opined, “Old age is not so bad when you consider the alternative.”
But my favorite among favorites is this pearl spoken by Ward Cleaver — “You’re never too old to do goofy stuff.”
Bette Davis made a pithy remark on aging, but I don’t remember it. There’s a lot of that going around in Elderland.
