Letter: Overlay approval betrays constituents

To the editor:

Zoning regulations, to me, a layman, are the body of the law which ensures that what's where it is, is where it will be so that it be a benefit all.

Yet, with all disregard of the environmental and economic evidence, Gloucester's City Council has unanimously failed to uphold that idea and our zoning regulations.

By approving the hotel overlay district within the Fort neighborhood, our councilors have fervently assured their betrayed constituency that condos and long-term residency facilities such as time shares, of course, will not be allowed — until times change, and then they are!
