Letter: Jenny Dee's tunes are music to this writer's ears

Gloucester Daily Times

---- — To the editor:

Rock Kingpin Boomers, what you heard through the grapevine is true — the music you came of age with in the 1960s is back and it’s better now than what you got back then.

The rhythms have reincarnated in a really groovy chick named Jenny Dee (D’Angora).

Boston music critics have voted Jenny best Massachusetts female vocalist, but, as far as I’m concerned, that title needs to be extended to national, international and far, far out to inter-galactic.

However, it must be revealed that Jenny is a notorious rock kingpin and has unabashedly named her group/gang the “Deelinquents.”

Jenny’s gang has quite a record (and a CD as well). They are clearly guilty — guilty of making music so great that it makes it a crime of the first degree to miss hearing them perform and an even greater offense not to dance.

Don’t let this happen to you. Be sure to catch Jenny Dee and the Deelinquents playing right here in our own Milky Way galaxy at Gloucester’s Rhumb Line for three full sets Friday night starting at 9:30.

And you kids of the X, Y & Z generations who missed out on the Woodstock era, this is your chance.

You come, too — and be sure to wear a flower in your hair.
